Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, continues his governance from the confines of Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody, issuing his inaugural order since detainment. The directive, concerning water supply in the national capital, was communicated via a memorandum to Delhi Minister Atishi, according to sources. Despite facing allegations and being placed under ED custody, Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) remains steadfast in their support for his retention as Chief Minister. This stance, however, marks a significant departure from AAP's previous position advocating for leaders facing allegations to step down to ensure impartial investigations.

Reports suggest that Kejriwal's arrest in connection with a money laundering case linked to Delhi's liquor policy has not deterred him from exercising his authority. Addressing the media, Atishi conveyed the emotional impact of Kejriwal's actions, stating, "Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has issued his first direction from ED custody. The directions were issued to me, the Water Minister. This brought tears to my eyes. How can a person - who has been arrested - think about the people of Delhi in such a difficult period?" Despite AAP's insistence on Kejriwal's continuation as CM, challenges lie ahead as jail regulations impose restrictions, allowing only two visits per week. An alternative, house arrest, remains improbable without consent from the Lieutenant Governor, presenting practical hurdles to sustaining governance from detention.
